Nancy , France (International event)

Duration: 09/21/2012, 09:30 to 09/21/2012, 17:00

For the last 40 years the ANSES laboratory for rabies and wildlife has been involved in the fight against rabies, conducting research programs and development. The laboratory contributed to the elimination of the viral disease in France in the 80s and still actively participates in European and international eradication plans. To celebrate forty years serving of human and animal health, the laboratory organizes a major scientific meeting around the key date of 28 September, International Day against rabies. This day will make a point of difference by bringing together leading experts and institutions acting in the fight against rabies (OIE, WHO, CDC, UE, EFSA...). Nancy Laboratory presents on this occasion its projects and advanced infrastructure to carry out the research.

Boscastle to Looe in Cornwall, United Kingdom (Regional event)

Walk-4-Rabies 2012
Duration: 09/27/2012, 10:00am to 09/30/2012, 10:00pm

We walked the Smugglers' Way in Cornwall - a 37-mile hike across Cornwall, linking the harbours of Boscastle on the Atlantic Coast and Looe on the English Channel. The Way traversed the rugged and picturesque landscape of Bodmin Moor, via the Jamaca Inn, immortalised by Du Maurier and along scenic paths beside the rivers Valency, Fowey and West Looe. We took three days to complete the challenge.
