With the GLOBAL THEME : “TOGETHER LET US MAKE RABIES A HISTORY” , the City Government of Antipolo through the City Veterinary Office is continuously embarking on different activities that will educate and bring awareness to the public with regards to Rabies its, prevention and control. We remain to be vigilant to totally eradicate this deadly virus, thus keeping Antipolo City – RABIES-FREE CITY. For this year, aside from the elementary and high school students, we will also be including the participation of parents and guardians of pre- school pupils of Day Care Center. Based on reports of the Animal Bite Center of the City Health Office, children 7 years of age and below are the usual victim of dog bites. These children are the most vulnerable to dog bites since they are not aware of the temper of dogs/puppies and they are not aware of the proper way of handling these animals. Often times the sites of bites are their faces and hands. When these happens, parents, guardian or the yayas of these children panic and most often they do not know the proper way of managing dog bite wounds and the proper authorities to coordinate with in this kind of emergency. Often times the sites of bites are their faces and hands. When these happens, parents, guardian or the yayas of these children panic and most often they do not know the proper way of managing dog bite wounds and the proper authorities to coordinate with in this kind of emergency.
